Presenters

Georgia Janos

Georgia Janos is a seasoned fitness professional who is known for the flow and choreography of any type of class she teaches. Her classes are fun, motivating and challenging. She is a fitness resource and has been a consultant to many clubs and directors in the Boston area. Some of her achievements include “Best of Boston” fitness instructor, Boston Magazine , AAU National and Pan-American gold medal recipient,. She spreads her energy and enthusiasm to other fitness professionals through her commitment as a continuing education provider for the national fitness organizations AFAA and ACE. Georgia currently Georgia is the northeast regional director for Boston Sports Clubs (a/ka/ TSI) where she oversees group fitness programs in clubs throughout New England and New York. Georgia believes that “fitness brings balance to ones life”.

Victoria Haffer

Victoria_23   Victoria Haffer holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology with over 25 years of experience in the wellness industry. As an International Wellness Presenter she has certified many personal trainers, group exercise instructors and yoga teachers. She is also a Reiki Master, Holistic Nutritionist, Clinincal Hypnotherapist and Certified Yoga/Pilates Instructor. Victoria continues her Yoga studies with Shiva Rhea, Gary Kraftsow, Anodea Judith, Erich Shiffman and Paul Grilley in topics such as Anatomy of Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Chakra Therapy. Victoria currently focuses her energy as the Fitness Director at The Kingsbury Club & Spa and on her private business “Love and Light Healing” where she combines her magical skills to facilitate transformation with her clients through balancing the mind, body and spirit connection.

Ann Saldi

Ann is known for her creative dance-based choreography, achieving elite status in the fitness industry for her specialty classes. She is an AFAA certified presenter and personal trainer, winner of the Boston Reg. Reebok FIT TV Tour, and has starred and appeared in numerous CIA videos I including staring in the 2005 CIA video. Ann has her own group exercise studio in Framingham MA. Ann is a Master Trainer for ZUMBA Fitness. Ann trains and certifies ZUMBA instructors nationwide!

Sherry Caitlin

scatlin2 Sherry is an international fitness consultant who travels nationwide and abroad presenting workshops, master classes and seminars. She is Director of Program Development for Body Bar Systems as well as a Continuing Educations Specialist for ACE and AFAA. She is a five start presenter for IDEA as well as the 2004 IDEA Program Director of the year and 2007 ECA Lifetime Achievement Award. Sherry is a regular presenter at industry conventions such as IHRSA, IDEA, Club Industry, East Coast Alliance, American Fitness Professionals, SCW and DCAC.

Sonja Agiomavritis, J.D.

sonja2010 Sonja is co-owner of New England Fitness Company, an AFAA & ACE certified group exercise instructor, Keiser Power Pacing certified cycling instructor, yoga teacher (500hr) and has personal trained as an ACE certified trainer. Sonja has been instructing group fitness since 1989 in the Worcester, Metro-West, Northshore and Boston areas. She is a continuing education provider for ACE (American Council on Exercise) & AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), directs corporate & school enrichment fitness programs, trains instructors and co-founded Crank Cycling Studio in 1998. In June 2007 Sonja purchased New England Fitness Company with the goal of improving the fitness industry and providing quality continuing education to fitness professionals via conferences throughout the New England area. Sonja partnered with Jennifer Smith in February 2012 as co owner of New England Fitness Company in order to continue to grow the NEFC community. Sonja is also has a Child Light yoga teacher certificate and is a certified Reebok Jukari Fit to Flex instructor. She also an attorney and admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1996.

Kostas Agiomavritis, M.A., B.S.

Kostas has a degree in Physical Education and a minor in Athletic Training from the University of Rhode Island as well as a Masters degree in Criminal Justice from Curry College. He is a Cycling Fusion certified cycling instructor, a Keiser Power Pacing certified cycling instructor, certified in C.O.B.W.E.B. (Cops On Bikes With Education For Bicyclists) and has personal trained as an AFAA certified trainer. As a personal trainer he focused on sport specific strength training. Kostas has been instructing group cycling for over 13 years. He has help direct programs, trained cycling instructors and co-founded Crank Cycling Studio in 1998. Kostas is also a local police officer and involved with his department’s mountain bike patrol unit.

Jeff Costa

jeff costa JEFF COSTA is recognized by his peers as a vanguard of the fitness industry. With a teaching career spanning over two decades, this local Bostonian exploded onto the Los Angeles fitness scene at the turn of the new millennium. Jeff Costa reinvented studio fitness in 2001 with his trademark workout, Cardio Striptease; the most successfully promoted, and often imitated program ever in the history of Crunch Gym. Jeff is ubiquitously known as the founder of what TIME Magazine coined the New Burlesque movement in gym culture, unabashedly blending the worlds of striptease, burlesque and pole dancing with the training playground of the group exercise studio, complete with stiletto heels, feather boas and a stable of A-List Hollywood celebrities.

Jeff is pleased to consider himself “old school” and is a veteran presenter and Continuing Education Provider on the US and international convention circuits. He is a featured expert for fitness-related television, including: NBC’s The Today Show, VH1’s Rock Bodies, MTV’s Celebrity Fit Club, E! Entertainment’s The Girls Next Door, and ESPN’s The Best Damn Sports Show Period.

Recruited in 2008 by Reebok as a Master Trainer for the Cirque de Soleil branded aerial training program JUKARI Fit to Fly, Jeff found himself bidding Los Angeles adieu; thus, ending a 10-year romance with sunny Southern California in order to return home to his fitness roots and the Reebok Global Headquarters in Massachusetts.

An entrepreneur at heart, Jeff has successfully leveraged his love of group and private training into a corporate based consulting company, Jeff Costa Fitness. His corporate clients include Nike, 24Hour Fitness, Biore Skincare, The Pearl Spa and most recently, Kellogg’s. Jeff Costa Fitness produced a series of four home exercise DVDs for Kellogg’s Latin America poised to launch January 1st 2012 on over 2.5 million boxes of Special K cereal across 9 countries! This next iteration of Cardio Striptease DVDs introduces playful new titles to Jeff’s digital repertoire, including Chair Dance Sculpt, Pilates Floor Show and Sexy Abs.

At New England Fitness Company, Jeff will share the four “F” words of his training philosophy while presenting The Hollywood Workout, an interval-training studio boot camp complete with original class content developed over the years for the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Christina Applegate, Carmen Electra and you! Tom Scotto, USA Cycling Elite Level Coach

Tom Scotto Tom is a USA Cycling Elite Level Coach and a competitive cyclist, competing in masters-level events in the New England region. One of Tom’s passions is bringing the skill, technique and training cyclists experience outdoors to indoor cycling classes. He has merged his degree from Berklee College of Music (drummer), coaching and presenter skills together to deliver a unique indoor cycling experience. Tom currently teaches indoor cycling at 6 different health clubs in the Boston area, as well as, in his own Coaching Lab in Arlington, MA.

Jennifer Smith

jen smith (color) Jennifer is the co-owner of New England Fitness Company is a continuing education provider for ACE & AFAA. She is ACE certified group fitness instructor, AFAA Certified in Kick Boxing, Mat Pilates, Personal Training, Group Exercise and Step, with over 20 years experience in group fitness. She has specialty certification in Spin, Body Pump, Body Combat, Group Power, Silver Sneakers, Turbo Kick and Zumba. Jen is a Pink Pilates certified instructor for breast cancer rehabilitation and has trained with Balanced Body Pilates. Jennifer is also a former nationally ranked competitive water-skier, tri-athlete and obstacle course fitness competitor. She has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from WPI.

Soraya Doherty

 

  Soraya Doherty is a regional fitness presenter and a sought after on-camera fitness coach. She is certified by American Council on Exercise (ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association (AFAA) and Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA). Soraya brings a strong background in Musical Theatre to the fitness arena; she holds both a BA and MA in theatre Arts and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Her theatrical teaching experience ranges from on camera acting for kids at the former San Francisco Full circle Productions to developing and instructing Dramatic Acting Courses for Patten University. Combining her talent and fitness experience, Soraya’s specialty is as a creative and innovative fitness professional. She provides original ideas to safe and effective workout formats. Cindy Evangelous

Cindy E Cindy Evangelous holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and holds certifications through AFAA, AAAI, Johnny G, Reebok, Balanced Body Pilates and EXO Chair and is also a CPR instructor. With over twenty two years of experience she is currently the co-owner of Fit Studio 28 in Westborough MA. Cindy has won two gold medals in Competitive Aerobics Training, was named the “Best of Boston Workout” in 2004, is an ACE and AFAA ceu provider and has years of experience in nutritional counseling and seminars. Cindy is a sought after and seasoned instructor who is known for creating unique workouts that encompass mind/body training and powerful effective weight training.

Acea Theroux

agilitiesOC[1] Acea R. Theroux is the Creator and Founder of Plyo Power® the Athletic based cardiovascular legs program that focuses on the precision of sports conditioning exercises. He has a BS in “Exercise Physiology and Health Management” and has specialty certifications with National Academy of Sports Medicine, APEX Nutritional Consultant, Nordic Pole Walking, TRX, Pre & Post Natal, Advanced Plyometrics Trainer, Core Training, CPR and First Aid. Acea has worked in just about every aspect of the Health and Exercise Industry. He produces, directs and hosts a weekly health and fitness television and radio shows ”Fitness & Fiction”, which take a unique look at health, fitness, nutrition and overall wellness. Acea prides himself upon is practicing what he preaches. “If I give a client or participant something to work on, such as a progression to a movement, stretch or different food to use as an energy source… you can bet the house that I’ve performed it, tried it and/or mastered it first!”.

Micheal D’Angelo

2008-01 Mike D[1] With more than 18 years of ground breaking success in the fitness industry, Mike D’Angelo is a personal trainer in every sense of the term. A native of Boston, he is an internationally ranked natural bodybuilder (a four time winner of the Natural USA Bodybuilding Competition and a holder of Pro status from ESPN’s MuscleMania/Fitness America) and an endorsed contract model/spokesperson for a handful of well-respected fitness companies. D’Angelo holds a degree in Exercise Science and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an advanced trainer.
But most importantly to his many clients, he is also a personal trainer passionate about maintaining – teaching others to maintain – a healthy, balanced lifestyle through the benefits of comprehensive exercise and nutrition programs. His dedication runs so deep that he has developed a cutting-edge online software program called BodyEvovler – which is quickly getting recognized as the most effective, efficient way for fitness professionals to train and track clients’ fitness levels as they get into shape.
